(Historical Notes: It’s farther down the list of things I wish I could mention more often, but I really do like the idea that Ichabod, for as much as he tries to posture as a detached observer, actually fantasizes of controlling everything and bending everyone to his wishes.  I mean, I’m sure most Nitpickers harbor some level of “Man, everything would be so much better if everyone just did everything I said” delusions, but Ichabod is especially deranged about it when nobody’s looking.  In fact, he’d probably deliberately run things into the ground to watch it all burn, laughing maniacally all the while… assuming he had a reliably prepared escape route planned out, of course.)
