(Historical Notes: Okay, here we go.  This is a point that I’m going to be hammering in a LOT over various points to come, but just hold this up against page 3.  There’s actually the same basic joke in both of these: Astrid’s skimpy dresses are pretty ridiculous.  But this version of the joke is, in my opinion, FAR more effective than the previous one, specifically because you don’t actually SEE Layla wearing the dress.  Again, I’ll harp on this more later, but basically the old adage of  “Show, don’t tell” actually has a lot of exceptions, especially where comedy is concerned.)
