(Historical Notes: Okay, here’s the thing.  I really like the flashback part of this scene, it’s a lovely little vignette between Trigger and Layla.  But the ultimate flaw here is that I just couldn’t come up with a reason for Trigger to be telling it to anybody.  Like, I had the catalyst for the conversation to START, but I really struggled to come up with any meaningful payoff that could tie into any bigger point or further a larger plot arc.  You can already see how I was struggling to come up with any reason for Ichabod’s side of the conversation to even happen, and it doesn’t get much better from here.  Also, Trigger is too pure for this sinful world.)
