(Historical Notes: …and that’s the other thing.  There’s very little about these costumes that have anything inherently “funny” about them, aside from the fact that we see a lot more skin than we normally would.  This is a big part of the problem with so many attempts at satirizing this sort of thing.  It’s not just enough to do something you normally wouldn’t and rely on the fact that your audience knows it’s out of character to be the funny part.  That’s basically the same level of comedy as shouting a word you don’t normally say, but know will offend other people.  That is to say, not very comedic at all.  Aside from the fact that you still actually have to WRITE jokes for your jokes to be funny, the whole “this is so out of character” aspect doesn’t hold up if there are OTHER people who’ll do the same thing completely earnest.  Just drawing our heroine in skimpy clothes won’t register as an absurd, laughable act if there’s dozes of other comics out there which will do the exact same thing just as a matter of course…)
