Layla’s Cosplay Quest – page 16
(Historical Notes: …and if you buy any of that art philosophy mumbo jumbo, then let’s just take a second and acknowledge that I’m just not very good at this kind of cheesecake art anyway. Like, seriously, we don’t need to dance around what’s right in front of us. Even aside from the big, beach ball heads on these girls, the anatomy on display in these comics is… inconsistent at best. Like, this is one of the better drawing in that regard, and I still have a lot of questions about just what’s going on with Layla’s torso. To give Past Me at least a little bit of a way out, I was still flailing around blindly when it came to adding shading to these things, and that’s where a lot of the odder details arose. Since I was just coloring in the pencil art instead of inking anything, I didn’t feel like I could try and sketch out any of the lighting details by hand, so instead I did it all with a mouse and no plan. Frankly, it’s a miracle that the results didn’t turn out worse than they did.
Oh, and the Gravity Falls reference here does still give me a bit of a grin.)
