I’m afraid that I can vouch for the fact, from my own high school and jr high years, that having to lug around a massive backpack everywhere you go all day, unfortunately does not really make you any significantly stronger 🙁
I strongly suspect that those super-boosted top of the line experimental blood nannites his parents gave him (which ironically make him completely immune to all the diseases and toxins he’s constantly worried about) are probably also what’s making him much stronger than the other kids. (Who probably also have really good blood nannites, being kids from rich families, but Tarkus’s parents are probably as healthophobic as he is, and got him even better ones…and of course didn’t tell him that he was immune to all the stuff he worries about)
You make a good point, actually. Four straight years of lugging around MASSIVE history and philosophy books at college, and I wound up graduating in even worse shape than it’d been in back in my teens.
