The Killer Station of Deadly Doom
(Historical Notes: It’s finally happening! Arguably the single best, and certainly the LONGEST, Voting Incentive series in Far Out There history is returning to the internet! I’m serious when I say that I think this is some of the best writing in all of Far Out There… which is quite the backhanded complement, seeing as how the core of the story is blatantly cribbed from an old Doctor Who serial. Hey, that just ensures that there’ll be a definitive beginning, middle, and end for once, right? Oh, and for all my fanfare, if you’re reading this at the tail end of 2021/dawn of 2022, there’s a very real chance that the whole arc actually ISN’T posted yet. I’m working on it, I promise, but there’s a LOT of pages to get through here!)
…”Oh, and for all my fanfare, if you’re reading this at the tail end of 2021/dawn of 2022″….
or, y’know, mid 2022. maybe you should just say 2022 😉
yeah, yeah, i’m one of those internet jerks who whines about the speed of the free stuff he’s getting 😀
And it’s not as if I hadn’t already saved this thing locally on my PC so I could just read it whenever I want to.
I just find that optimism amusing that you thought you’d totally be done with it be early ’22 at the latest. I do that all the time myself, though, and every time I’m left scratching my head as to why in the world past-me thought that present me would be done with whatever it is so quickly when past-me totally knew better!
I’m just relieved that somebody else out there has backup copies of all this stuff, just in case I suddenly croak or my computer explodes or something
On a separate note, the beauty and amazingness in the writing here lies not in whether it was cribbed from Dr Who (which I’ve never seen so no idea how much resemblance) but that you could take a plot framework from some unrelated media and make it fit seamlessly into FOT continuity in a way that makes it really integral to the understanding of the entire FOT Universe. Really, that’s kind of more amazing than if you had totally made it up from scratch.
