(Historical Notes: I’m pretty sure I’ve already made this joke, but I think the main reason Ichabod finally called Cap’n Crosby and chartered a ship was because his book collection got too big to drag around without leaving in its own room.)
It’s too bad the Guild doesn’t own some sort of portal to an unlimited storage planet he could use…that Marshall would later be shown using. 😉
So I assume:
1. It’s the past and it hasn’t been invented yet or they haven’t bought it yet.
2. Ichabod refuses to use it because it’s too dangerous (justifiable) or some other Ichabodish reasons (probably not justifiable but funnier)
3. Doesnt work on books because (insert technobabble)
4. Ichabod was banned from using it, because he broke it or some other similar thing previously.
