I think if people visit May’s home planet, this is how they’re REQUIRED to dress.
Their Steampunk Ethos is very strict.
I think I’ve said this elsewhere, but I’ve got the idea that May’s planet had to adpot steam-based technology due to some technobabble preventing regular technology from working… only then they solved that, but kept up the aesthetic anyway because it was just “Their Thing” now.
