(Historical Notes: I’m pretty sure this comes up elsewhere, but Alphonse likes cellos because that’s the only instrument I ever really learned how to play. Also, I know for a fact that they make tiny little cellos for young students, but that’s not funny enough. Let’s pretend that Alphonse doesn’t like the tone of the little ones.)
When I was a child, my elementary school had a bunch of musicians come to an assembly and demonstrate their instruments- I was taken with the trumpet, but more than that- with the bass fiddle!
(My mom vetoed the bass fiddle on the grounds of “too hard to maneuver” so I played the trumpet for seven years.)
