I was tempted to have the other three so out of focus that you could really only see Avi. I’m sure he’d want it that way.
Honestly, while Avi likes being the center of attention, he hasn’t actually shown that he’ll shove his friends OUT of the limelight for it. If anything, his introduction showed him willingly to praising his friends just as much as he wants to be praised. If they’re that far in the background that they’re partially obscured, it’s because they looked wooden and uncomfortable in their positions.
Also, for some reason I feel like Tarkus would be a better drummer than Hiro.
I’ll have to agree with Darius, Tarkus is definitely the drummer in their band. For various reasons.
I imagined Hiro on drums on the theory of him being the most physically strong of the bunch, and thus able to hit things the hardest. But actually, since Tarkus regularly lugs that giant backpack around, maybe he SHOULD secretly be the strongest of the bunch but is too timid to show it?
I should also point out that while Avi DOES praise his friends, he’s not good at doing it in a way that doesn’t also make himself look good in the process, or at the very least try to fit them into his own preconceived notion of how they ought to be. You’re right, though, he probably wouldn’t DELIBERATELY push them out of the picture… just maybe get too caught up in making sure the cameraman got his good side to notice everybody else falling out of frame.
